New Interests


January 19th-30th

Starting the 2nd semester, there were new changes into the My Life Project. One of the changes was incorporating new students, about 10 freshman were brought into the My Life Project. Another change was bringing two more instructors, Ms. Dewey, and Mr. Lopes, and the last change was giving us our own instructor for our projects. So, our instructor to help us with the student store is Mr. Ryan, we have to tell him our ideas and what we are up too. Continuing on, Julisa, Irene, and I were deciding whether or not to change our project. We thought that we could start with a new project, because we felt the student store was not working out as we thought it would. We starting thinking of new interests that we liked, Julisa wanted to bring back the silkscreen to make t- shirts, but that seemed a bit to hard for us to start since it required a lot of money and at the moment we did not have any. So after thinking of new ideas we all seemed interested in getting involved with animals. We talked to Ms. Dewey, and she incorporated another idea to combine with the animals. The idea was doing animal assisted therapy of the kids who have autism, or down syndrome,or any special needs. The animals would be incorporated to help the kids be motivated and encouraged in their behavior. So, then we started doing research of all the places that had programs of assisted animal therapy, and we would make that into our new project.
