Structuring Arguments

1) We should amend the constitution to abolish the electoral college - claim
- Because a true democracy is based on the popular vote, not the votes of the unusually known electors
Warrant: Electoral college is not a true democracy

-Because under the electoral college system the votes of the people who have minority opinions in some states end up not counting.
Warrant: The votes of people who have minority opinions in some states should be end up counting

Because then Al Gore would have won the 2000 election
Warrant: If the electoral college did not exist, then Al Gore would have not won the 2000 election

Because the electoral college is outdated relic of an age when the political leaders did not trust people
Warrant: If the electoral college was not outdated the politic leaders would trust the people

Because electoral college skews power toward small and mid-sized states for no good reason
Warrant: Electoral college skews toward bigger states

The warrant that would need to be defended would have to be the last warrant, the bigger states should have more power. Also the second warrant would need defending, and the fourth. The college audience would likely accept the first warrant without significant backing.

Overview:
I see planet earth out in the dark outer space. This picture seems to be taken from the moon. The image seems to be capturing only half of planet earth.

Parts: 
Planet earth looks like the size of a marble. The side of themoon looks like an edge, where nothing but darkness is urrounding it.

Title:
Earth Rise

Inference:
 The darkness of space makes earth stand out, you can see the colors, green and blue, that is the ocean and land.

Conclusion:
Earth is in the middle of nowhere in space, but only miles, and miles away from the moon.

Overview:
I see various kids bunched up together, they look tired and sad. They all look filthy from working in the coall mines.

Parts:
There are various kids short and tall, but all seem to look skinny. There faces look very serious. they look like they are outside taking the picture.

Inference:
All the kids look like they were forced into being all bunched up to take this shot.

Conclusion:
The whole image gives off a sad mood. Seeing all those coal mine kids at a young age working, and who knows, risking their lives.

• Drought could represent the beginning of a historic megadrought
• 20 to 50 percent chance of a 35 year megadrought by the cetury's end
• California's population is expected to grow to 50 million by 2050, making the effects of the potential water crisis even more severe.

                                             Netanyahu challenges Obama on Iran

Pro:

• Obama declined to attend, saying he could not be seen taking sides ahead of Israels March 17 election 
• Obama has repeatedly pledged not to let Iran obtain a nuclear weapon and to take action if Tehran breaks the terms of any deal

Con:

• Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu isseued a warning to president Obama about the nuclear deal being negotiated with Iran.
• Netanyahu's speech was organized by republican housekeeper John Boehner without consultation of the white house
• Netanyahu was essentially " agitating for war"
• His real focus was not on Iran anyway 
• Netanyhu is playing a dangerous game

Stance:

      Netanyahu was palying a dangerous game on the negotiation over the nuclear deal with Iran. Iran's " breaout time" to develop nuclear weapons could set off a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Obama has repeatedly said not to let Iran get control of nuclear weapons.

1. Sports were seen as important in teaching the “American” values of hard work, and respecting authority, but now in this modern world things have changed.
2. throughout the world various forms of unequal fairness is happening all around us.

1. What is fairness?
1. All players must play for equality
2. players are equally trained and educated and are still not receiving enough play time
3. studies have shown that the number one reason why players quit is because they are not having fun
4. I think we can all agree that sitting on the bench the whole game is not an enjoyable experience
5. being benched affects team dynamics, the best player can get injured, and inexperienced players are put in and can ruin the game because they did not receive enough play time.

1. playing makes you feel on top of the world, and if you're not put in as much, it makes you lose interest in the sport
2. Encouraging Motivation is the key to students participating in sports  
1. having motivation makes everyone go to practice and be more engaged to do better in games

3. Everyone wants to feel like they are  part of the team, and when others see that, they automatically want to join
4. When students are seeing the lack of players not getting put into the games they definitely don't want to be in that position where they know they will be sitting out
5. If every player received meaningful minutes every player would be engaged to attend practice more
6. Coaches can bring low self-esteem to players
1. Ruining children’s self-confidence can even cause them to go into depression, feeling like they can no longer succeed in sports and thinking negative thoughts about themselves, which can ultimately affect their everyday lives
2. Other studies have shown that some coaches do not always seem to realize is that the kids are not just learning from the teammates and the actual playing of the game, but they are very in tune to what the coach is doing and how the coach leads and motivates the team
3. Coaches are the ones who decide what players to put in, and they are the ones who also do not include everyone to play

4. Teamwork is important, everyone learns how to work with each other, and give greater respect, and a team like that ends up winning

7. the players who are antisocial are the ones that are less put in games
8. Communication gets you from the bench to the court, you make yourself stand out, and make the coach realize you have it in you to play
9. Getting equal play time allows you to manage pressure, if you get to play a lot in games you know how to handle it, but those who are sitting at the bench every game would not know how to
10. its always important to include every player to develop skills to improve themselves when playing
